Welcome & Call to Worship
Psalm 17:6-8, 15 (NIV)
Leader: Welcome to Evanston Bible Fellowship! If you’re new, we invite you to scan the QR code in front of you and fill out the connection card to let us know you’re here. Please stand for our call to worship from Psalm 17, reading the words in bold.
Leader: 6 I call on you, my God, for you will answer me;
turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.
All: 7 Show me the wonders of your great love,
you who save by your right hand
those who take refuge in you from their foes.
Leader: 8 Keep me as the apple of your eye;
hide me in the shadow of your wings.
All: 15 As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face;
when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.
Leader: Let’s lift up our hearts and voices in worship!

See what our Savior has done
See how His love overcomes
He has done great things
He has done great things

You free every captive and break every chain
O God You have done great things
We dance in Your freedom awake and alive
O Jesus our Savior Your name lifted high
O God You have done great things

You’ve been faithful through every storm
You’ll be faithful forevermore
You have done great things
And I know You will do it again
For Your promise is yes and amen
You will do great things
God You do great things

God Is For Us
Verse 1
We won't fear the battle
We won't fear the night
We will walk the Valley with You by our side
You will go before us
You will lead the way
We have found a refuge only You can save
Chorus
Sing with joy now our God is for us
The Father's love is a strong and mighty fortress
Raise your voice now no love is greater
Who can stand against us if our God is for us
Verse 2
Even when I stumble
Even when I fall
Even when I turn back still Your love is sure
You will not abandon
You will not forsake
You will cheer me onward with never ending grace
Bridge
Neither height nor depth can separate us
Hell and death will not defeat us
He who gave His Son to free us
Holds me in His love

Lord I Need You
Verse 1
Lord I come I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
And without You I fall apart
You're the one that guides my heart
Chorus 1
Lord I need You oh I need You
Ev'ry hour I need You
My one defense my righteousness
Oh God how I need You
Verse 2
Where sin runs deep Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
And where You are Lord I am free
Holiness is Christ in me
Where You are Lord I am free
Holiness is Christ in me
Bridge
So teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You
Jesus You're my hope and stay
And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You
Jesus You're my hope and stay
Chorus 2
Lord I need You oh I need You
Ev'ry hour I need You
My one defense my righteousness
Oh God how I need You
My one defense my righteousness
Oh God how I need You

Confession & Assurance
Leader: Please join us in this prayer of confession, reading the words in bold:
All: God of mercy, you sent Jesus Christ to seek and save the lost. We confess that we have strayed from you and turned aside from your way. Have mercy, O God, and forgive our sin. Return us to paths of righteousness through Jesus Christ, our Savior.
Leader: Almighty God, Redeemer of all who trust you, heed our cry, the voice of your people. Deliver us from the bondage of sin, that we may serve you in perfect freedom and rejoice in your unfailing love. Through Jesus Christ our Savior, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
Leader: Hear these words of hope from Isaiah 43: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Friends, believe the good news of the gospel: Christ has come to make us—and all things—new.
All: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Amen.
Leader: (Pray for the kids, dismiss them, and invite people to greet one another.)
Scripture Reading: 1 John 2:28-3:3 (NIV)
Leader: Please return and remain standing (as you are able) for today’s Scripture reading from 1 John 2:28-3:3. After the reading, the response will be, “Thanks be to God.”
28 And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.
29 If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him.
3 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
3 All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
Leader: The Word of the Lord.
All: Thanks be to God!
Leader: You may be seated.

Watching and waiting, looking above
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love

Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long

Announcements

Benediction: Colossians 3:1-4 (NIV)
Leader: As we go, receive this benediction from Colossians 3:1-4:
3 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Leader: Go in peace to love and serve the Lord!
